Bona Mangangu- Artist , painter, writer, art critic, photographer

Bona Mangangu was born in Kinshasa, Congo and studied History of Arts, Literature and science education at the University of Paris VIII, France. He also published several books as a poet and writer before moving to Sheffield, UK to achieve his Postgraduate in fine art at the Sheffield Institute of Arts and Design. He works in a number of media, including painting, drawing, printmaking and recently sculpture.

Whilst the United Kingdom remains his primary base, Bona Mangangu divides his time between Portugal, Scotland and France.

His work has been exhibited in internationally Galleries in Germany, Belgium, Israel, Lebanon, Palestine, Norway, Mexico, Spain, among others. He also has numerous works in private collections. 

Bona Mangangu received his MFA from the Sheffield Institute of Arts (Sheffield Hallam University) and lives and works in Sheffield and London, UK. He has exhibited at Arundel Court gallery and as solo shows at various galleries in France, Belgium, Germany, Norway and Morocco. He has recently exhibited in Mexico Museo Leonora Carrington with the French painter Claude-Henri Bartoli. 

He has also exhibited in Mexico University (Gallery of Habitat) in San Luis Potosi, in French Cultural Centers in Lebanon, Israel and Palestine as a writer alongside with his friend Michele Arellano, a French printmaker. Residencies include College Paul Riquet and Workspace Residency at Villa Antonine of the famous French sculptor Injalbert in Beziers, in the South of France. His work has been collected in private collections in France, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Morocco, United Kingdom, Mexico, Congo, USA etc... 

​As a writer, he has published severals books –fiction and poetry in french, and essays in english (Sheffield Hallam university). Most of his books can easily be found online. (Refer to his Wikipedia page)
